Who I Am
My name is Sparrow Hopp, and I am a 2024 graduate from Champlain College with my BS in Game Programming and a minor in Mathematics. For three years I've been a Unity Development intern for VictoryXR working on rebranding scenes and adding functionality to new scenes. Part of my success at VictoryXR has been due to my commitment to effective leadership. Since high school, I have been engaged with team leadership and management, starting with my work as a lead lifeguard. Now I help lead my teams to create successful projects such as Project Paint.
My Story
Growing up I was always an avid gamer. I remember my first time playing Mario Kart on my friend's Wii back in 2009 lighting a flame within me. I loved playing games with my siblings, as well as on my own. They got me through my darker times as a kid and were always a beacon of light to me. This is what started me on the path of game development. I wanted to take that joy and the escape from reality I cherished so much and bring it to others. So, I started taking programming classes in high school and went to college for game development. Now, I feel ready to take on the game industry and create experiences for future generations to enjoy the same way I always did. I hope to focus the brunt of my programming on graphics or AI in the future as those are the sects of game programming I enjoy the most.
